Въпреки необходимостта от основна грамотност по блокчейн, всъщност няма или има много малко образователни пътища, насочени към възрастните учащи. Блокчейн е сложна концепция за разбиране. Доскоро нямаше официални образователни курсове за него. Повечето курсове, фокусирани върху тази технология, са за ИТ специалисти и разработчици на софтуер. Все още има голяма празнина в намирането на лесно достъпни ресурси за обучение по тази новаторска технология. Освен това има известно объркване и липса на яснота за това как тази технология може да бъде от полза за широката публика.
